We offer a SURFCAM Application Support Contract (ASC) focusing on advanced surfacing and multi-axis applications.  Firms with an ASC accounts are eligible for advanced web-based or on-site application assistance.  Using your parts, we work side by side with you to make use of the most efficient cutting strategies, saving you the wasted time and effort re-learning what we’ve already experienced.

Multi-Axis Posts

CAMCAD’s custom posts for SURFCAM output added information in the NC file to simplify first article prove-out and are guaranteed to generate edit-free output.  With today’s advanced CNC control software, we know that getting the syntax exactly correct for specialty features like (multi-part subroutines, dynamic fixture offset, tool center point management, and high-speed look-ahead) is very important.  And getting these features turned on and off in the correct order in the NC file is critical to achieve edit-free output.  Bottom line, the typical 5-Axis mill or mill-turn post must manage 50~75 or more G & M-codes correctly to avoid manual editing at the machine, and CAMCAD’s custom posts are noted for all of the above.

Application Training

Selling and servicing the SURFCAM product over a 26-year period has given us a “been there, done that” level of expertise with the product.  In other words, we’ve been in a problem-solving mode for well over two decades, answering our customer’s application questions.  As they have transitioned into 5ax milling and hybrid CNC machinery, we’ve been there to deliver custom posts, training them how to setup multi-axis jobs, where to look in the on-line documentation, and so on.

Consulting Services

CAMCAD’s consulting services focus on the metal-cutting process – not counting widgets.  If management does not make the best use of current CNC resources, or doesn’t make the correct investment in the right CNCs for the job at hand, or doesn’t provide adequate training or technology, a shop may be performing far below its potential.

With CNC technology improving rapidly, machine tools becoming ever more complex, Internet-based communications being imbedded within CNC software, corporate mergers happening frequently, and seasoned employees retiring, we find that employees in most shops intuitively know what is/isn’t optimal but they do not have the time to pull together a convincing document to convince management to make necessary changes.
